Here is the hat finished today. The yarn used was Patons Fab DK 0235. The pattern was the Simple Hat from Debbie Bliss’s Baby Knits for Beginners. I had to go down 2 needle sizes to get the right gauge but it turned out well. I may try and add a flower in some Patons Cotton DK.
This jacket was knit in the same yarn as the hat, pattern is easy to remember but it gets very heavy when you get to the yoke. Pattern was from a Knit Today supplement last year.
Progress

I’ve been feeling very productive lately, as well as learning HTML (slowly…) I’ve finished another project. Later today I hope to put up pics of the jacket & matching baby hat that are now complete.
I’ve agreed to take part in a Doctor Who charity afghan on Ravelry and learnt how to knit a bias square.
I want milk!I’m very tempted by Rowan’s new milk cotton yarn. It looks lovely and probably feels great too.
Decreasing…….slowly

I’m gradually getting all my baby knitting done, when the kids aren’t screaming or climbing me. I recently finished a jacket for a friends little girl, I’m half-way through a matching hat and hope to complete the outfit with a little pair of ballet shoes.
I’m also going to attempt my own version of the Felted Baby Yoda hat using DK acryllic and straight needles. It should look nice with the Baby Yoda Sweater and a pair of cargo pants.
Hopefully when all of that is finished I can knit something for myself. I’m looking forward to attempting lace work, despite being terrified at the thought of following a chart.
Getting nerdy

I’ve decided to let Kae teach me to program, hopefully this won’t lead to a divorce
!
It only took about 15 minutes for the confusion to set in but I’m going to persevere with it. If I manage to succeed I can at least understand 90% of what he talks about.
Not good at typing stuff…this is all for now.

Here is Boann wearing the “Simple Hat” from Debbie Bliss’ Baby Knits For Beginners. It turned out too small but I’m starting another in Stylecraft Peek-A-Boo DK.

This is a Debbie Bliss hat from an old issue of Simply Knitting. It was knitted in 0-3 months but its actually quite big.

Here Jareth is modelling the above Debbie Bliss hat. He’s 3yrs and 4 months old and it’s big on him. He doesn’t like being photographed so it was difficult to get a clear picture.
A productive weekend

I made a small blanket for the cats using squares originally knitted for a blanket when Jareth was little. I also made another hat for Boann which is too small. The first hat I knitted was using a Debbie Bliss pattern in size 0-3 mths, so I thought it would be good to knit less rows before decreasing. I was wrong, even though it was a similar pattern also by Debbie Bliss, the sizing seems more accurate. I just need to make another attempt to be sure.
The baby blanket is slowly growing when I get a few spare minutes to work on it. It doesn’t need too much concentration though because I’m doing it in garter stitch.
And now to bed and to sleep, at least for a few minutes before Boann wakes again.
Soft, fluffy, cuddly and pink!

Hello, my name is Bronwyn and I’m a knitter.
There’s a lot of different things I have on the needle at the moment, but I’m trying to concentrate on a blanket for Boann. I’m using Wendy Velvet Flake in pink, it’s so snuggly that I can’t resist giving it the occasional squeeze. Hopefully I’ll get some pics up of some finished objects, it depends how many times I need to pester Kae.
The beginning of the end….

I’m finally starting a blog, but be warned, I am not a nerd. My husband should be typing this while I sit back and knit. I probably wont write too often as my little girl rarely sleeps. It’s short, a bit crappy, but at least it’s a start ![]()
